If you have never been to a yoga retreat before you might be wondering why people go, and what all the hype is about?
I have been to multiple yoga retreats, and I make an effort to attend one once a year.
I go to yoga retreats to find some time for myself, to nourish myself, and refill my cup. Its feels refreshing to completely immerse yourself in delicious yoga, good food, and amazing people for a few days, and finding a new sense of community along with it.
Taking this time allows me to get back into my body and hear what it is really craving, to get back into myself, find some time for introspection. It is also a time of fun, and play, of meeting new people who have similar interests.
I've noticed the teachers on retreats are very excited to be there and give you a level of passion in their classes you may not have fully seen before.
Usually the teachers will work with different themes and ideas, allowing you to really connect with yourself. Often resulting in a yoga experience you don't quite get in a regular studio class.
If you are looking for yoga retreat this year there are few thing to consider.
Finding a teacher and style of yoga that resonates with you. Paying attention if there are any other options being offered as well such as life coaching, or meditation, and making sure that is something that interests you as well.
Pick a location, there are many opportunities to travel all over the world for retreats or even in your own back yard.
What are you wanting out of your retreat? To have some quiet time for you, or are you wanting to be kept busy the whole time?
Once you know what you are looking for it becomes easier to narrow down the search for a yoga retreat that will suit you. I find it best to always approach retreats with an open mind and open heart to get the most out of the experience.
Be Free Yoga and Breathe In Life are excited to be offering a yoga and meditation retreat this summer in Fernie BC, for 3 days and 3 nights. For more information and to register click here.
