Why Be Free Yoga, and Why we do what we do....
"I wanted to give people a space where they could literally be free. Free from the busyness of everyday life, freedom to be exactly who they are and take what they need in that moment. The freedom and space to feel, to connect, to be inspired, and to love both inwardly and outwardly." - Katie - Be Free Yoga Founder, and teacher
What is Be Free Yoga, and why should I come?
Be Free Yoga is a boutique yoga studio offering a variety of yoga classes to Spruce Grove and surrounding area. From the moment you walk in the door we make you feel welcome and comfortable as if you are walking in to your second home. Our teachers are very caring and knowledgeable, you will feel supported throughout your practice. We have extensive knowledge in teaching yoga to anyone from never done yoga before, recovering from injuries and health ailments, to people who have been practicing for years. Read about the different classes we offer here and choose the one that suits your needs.
How is Be Free Yoga different then the other yoga studios?
Be free yoga offers a very comfortable environment where you instantly feel like you are welcomed and belong. We make an effort to connect with each student on an individual level, you - the community are important to us. Our intimate class sizes and approach allows the teachers to get to know you better and assist you in what you need from your yoga practice.
What can I expect when I come for my first class?
You can expect to be greeted by one of our smiley teachers instantly making you feel welcomed. We suggest you come at least 10-15 minutes early to fill out the waiver form and to get signed in to your class. We have cubbies in the office for you to keep your stuff during class, we encourage you to leave your valuables at home, but the doors are locked during class so no one is coming in or out except for the massage therapist that works at the studio as well. Feel free to ask your teacher any questions that you may have before class. We do have a washroom and a change room if you need to change before or after class. Give yourself time to settle into the studio room. It's totally normal to feel a little bit lost during your first ever class, as the moves may be new to you and your body. You can expect to be guided through your class by a kind and knowledgeable teacher, offering guidance and support throughout, ensuring a positive experience.
What should I bring?
You should wear or bring with you clothes you feel comfortable in and that move well with your body. Many students wear shorts, capris or pants and t-shirts or tank tops. Bring with you a water bottle, we do have a water cooler at the studio, a yoga mat and if you are one to sweat easily like we are, we suggest bringing a towel for your mat. If you don't have a yoga mat or towel don't stress we have mats and towels to rent at the studio, just make sure you clean them after class with the disinfectant and cloth provided. Bring and open mind and a willingness to try something new.
What are the class sizes?
At Be Free Yoga we take pride in offering classes that you feel seen, and you are a human being not just another client or a number. We are a boutique studio meaning our class sizes are smaller, the maximum capacity we can get in a class is 22 people. Because we are newer and still growing our classes are at about half capacity at the moment.
Can I try a class before committing to your studio?
We offer a very generous discount for new students with our Beginner Month Special. It is $40 for 30 days of unlimited yoga, it starts on your very first visit and you can come as many times as you like in those 30 days to really get an idea of the types of classes we offer.
Who are the instructors?
The instructors are an amazing group of people, who have a solid knowledge base in the style of yoga they teach. You will find that all the instructors have an individual style that reflects their personalities, but you can expect consistency between the classes.
